BTS made some legit buzz when they attended the Grammys! They didn’t just walk down the red carpet, BTS became the first k-pop group to present an award. And let’s not forget about Love Yourself: Tear got nominated for the best recording package. How exciting is that? Of course, everyone was curious about what the guys would wear on such an important night. Many were betting on Dior after BTS posted a photo with Dior Homme’s creative director Kim Jones on their twitter account. However, BTS and their team surprised everyone again, radiating their cheerful energy while wearing exquisite JayBaek Couture tuxedos, except for Hoseok who was dressed in Kim Seo Ryeong brand. The dazzling seven made an excellent choice for a historic night – classical elegance was the word of the evening. They conquered the hearts of all fashion critics an immediately made it to best-dressed lists and it’s absolutely deserved.
If you think that you are not really familiar with JayBaek’s works, you could be wrong. This brand is the way to go when actors want to shine in an elegant suit on a movie or a drama premiere, many k-pop bands such as BTS, EXO and GOT7 aren’t an exception when it comes to wearing the brand’s dashing outfits.
JayBaek Couture creations have received a couple of memorable “roles” in your favourite dramas. We all know how powerful clothes can be in movies and dramas. Sometimes outfits are bound up with the characters and as a result we have an iconic image. Whether it’s Young Joon with his impressive collection of four-piece suits or the main lead of W Kang Cheol in his iconic denim outfit. And I couldn’t leave out Kim Shin, our favourite Goblin, in his black coat. I have news for you: they have all worn JayBaek Couture. Let’s break it down.
Lee Young Joon in What's Wrong with Secretary Kim
It would have been really strange if an all-around perfect, sharp-dressed CEO like Young Joon didn’t have at least one JayBaek Couture suit in his wardrobe. It won’t be hard to summon up memories of this particular outfit because it was featured in a very memorable and romantic scene when Young Joon used his 9k blazer to shield Mi Soo from the rain. He also didn’t forget to bring up that it’s a limited edition item. It all started with Yoon Joon descending on his employees' workshop weekend in the countryside wearing a khaki linen suit with a tangerine orange polo shirt. It’s a great choice of material when you go for a more casual and chilled out look while still wearing a suit. If you gate crash into your employees’ workshop-vacation, you must keep it chic.
Kang Cheol in W: Two Worlds
Kang Cheol is a fashion icon, no doubt, his looks throughout the drama were always stylish, unique and vibrant. He could easily pull off a cobalt blue suit and total denim outfit. No wonder that he had a soft pink JayBaek Couture robe coat in his fashion arsenal. Long pastel pink coat made Kang Cheol look even taller and more dreamlike which really fit the male lead from a manhva concept. Oversized coat trench paired with a beige long sleeve shirt, jeans and sneakers - this look is an epitome of a laconic and minimalistic Korean style. And we love a simple look with taste that’s also easy to recreate!
Kim Shin in Goblin
Favourite goblin of K-drama fandom Kim Shin was always knowledgeable about how to make a simple look for chilly weather look refined and stylish. Maybe the long-cursed life of a goblin gives you some precious fashion experience when you don’t care about constantly changing trends and you just stick to classic looks. The easiest way to do that is to have a fitting straight cut coat. And Kim Shin, a Goryeo almost 1000 year old fashionista, had a whole collection of them: monochrome, check, with a fringe on the bottom. It’s not a surprise that he also had a basic black coat that really can be combined with anything. Kim Shin wore a black alpaca JayBaek Couture coat in the last tear-jerking episode of the drama - perfect for chilly weather: it keeps you warm and resists dirt easily, a perfect choice to wear when you are busy protecting people.
And what are your favourite looks out of the three? Which outfits you feel like drawing inspiration from?
